About us

Retratos do Amália em Viana - Sara Dourado

Sara Dourado was the one who dreamed and brought this project to life, which belongs to all of us, as it is based on Portuguese culture, from the music to the dishes they offer here.

Being a great admirer of Amália Rodrigues, she wanted to create a space where one could feel the energy of this great woman and singer.

The love for gastronomy and hospitality led her to create a space where all the ingredients are carefully chosen, and where one can experience Portuguese dishes and share them with friends and family, as Amália enjoyed doing.

Fado is always present; however, the intention is to showcase new talents who interpret Portuguese music in various forms.

Sara works with love and will always welcome her customers with a smile on her lips.

If my blood doesn't deceive me
As fantasies do
We shall go to Viana
Oh, my love of someday

The People

Retratos do Amália em Viana

"I feel tremendous pride in my team. The pillars of the house.

Good people, from different backgrounds, have come together in this project, which belongs to all of us.

Each and every one, without exception, gives their all. We are a united, strong, professional team.

Each with their own strengths and weaknesses, with their very particular individuality, which enriches the exchange of knowledge and experiences, making us a team that the client can feel the difference.

These are my kids. I love each one of them.

I feel very grateful to have them with me to carry out the excellent service that I set out to provide."

Amália Toast

Amália enjoyed gathering family and friends around a table with a Portuguese stew. But in truth, that wasn't when she savoured smoked meats the most.
On the following day, she loved to toast the leftovers of the sausages and eat them with bread.

Then the Toast Amália was born. We make a Portuguese stew with regional sausages. We shred all the meats and sauté them. We serve them on slow-fermented ciabatta bread with fried carrot shavings.
